During November, the D. H. Chen Foundation Nobel Laureate Lecture Series drew Nobel Laureates of various fields to PolyU to share their insights, celebrating the University’s 80th anniversary. On 7 November, Prof. Johann Deisenhofer, 1988 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, shared his ground breaking discovery in photosynthesis at the lecture titled “Photosynthesis, the Most Important Chemical Reaction on Earth”.

On 21 November, Prof. Robert Engle, 2003 Nobel Laureate in Economic Sciences, spoke at the lecture with the topic “How Much SRISK (systemic risk) is Too Much?”. The next day, Prof. Aaron Ciechanover, 2004 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, discussed “The Revolution of Personalized Medicine: Are We Going to Cure all Diseases and at What Price?”, rounding out the Nobel Laureate Lecture series.
