Recently, PolyU and Xi’an Jiaotong University has joined hands to set up the “Xi’an Jiaotong University - The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Silk Road International School of Engineering”. The objective is to nurture talents and foster long-term partnership in academic and research collaboration among institutions in Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland and along the Belt and Road. Officiated by PolyU Council Chairman Mr Chan Tze-ching and Xi’an Jiaotong University President Prof. Wang Shu-guo, the opening ceremony was held on 22 September in Xi’an.

On the occasion, PolyU, Xi'an Jiaotong University, State Grid Technology Institute and Hong Kong Electric Co., Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate in training talents in energy management. Details (Chinese only)>>

PolyU spares no effort in nurturing innovative and entrepreneurial talent for the benefit of society. On 23 September, the University participated in “The Belt and Road University Presidents’ Forum on Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education”. At the forum, PolyU Council Chairman Mr Chan Tze-ching and Vice President (Administration and Business) Dr Miranda Lou shared the University’s experience in grooming talent with over 300 participants from 172 universities of 42 countries and regions.
