PolyU is pleased to be named one of the 55 "technology challengers" by Times Higher Education (THE), in recognition of its efforts in driving innovation and fostering industry partnership. In the meantime, the Innovation & Impact Summit, a key celebratory event of its 80th Anniversary, co-hosted by PolyU and THE is coming up on 31 May - 2 June.

Themed "Powering Universities' Economic and Social Impact through Innovative Research and Teaching", the Summit will feature keynote speeches and a series of thought-provoking panel discussions by high-profile innovators, entrepreneurs, influential higher education figures and policy-makers from across the globe. They include Mr Charles Chen Yidan, Founder of Yidan Prize and Core Founder of Tencent Holdings Limited; Dr Hermann Hauser, Co-Founder of Amadeus Capital Partners; and Mr Greg Simon, Former Executive Director, White House Cancer Moonshot Task Force, to name just a few. The Summit discussion will be divided into five sessions - Opening Minds; Leading for Impact; Entrepreneurship; Employability and skills; and Metrics and Data.

Another highlight will be the pre-summit workshop, PolyU Showcase, where delegates will be taken on a journey through the University's impactful research and innovations in four niche areas, solving problems, creating hopes and benefitting mankind. These areas are: space, aviation and railway; sustainable urban development; human-centered innovation; and hospitality.

Through dedicated efforts, PolyU is keen to take the lead in making positive impact to the world through research and teaching innovation.
