Twenty-five
winners of the 2002 Bauhinia Cup Outstanding Entrepreneur
Awards were honoured at a special award presentation ceremony
held on 2 December. This year, 19 out of the 25 winners
were from the Mainland, and the scale of the Awards scheme
was firstly extended to include six distinguished entrepreneurs
from Hong Kong.
Organised
by PolyU's Institute for Enterprise(IfE) for the
third time, the 2002 Bauhinia Cup Outstanding Entrepreneur
Awards scheme aims to recognise exceptionally outstanding
entrepreneurs from the private sector of the Chinese mainland
and the Hong Kong SAR. Winners are all leaders of private
enterprises who have made significant contributions to their
industries. Shortlisted leaders are required to have run
an enterprise with production volume or turnover exceeding
HK$100 million and has an average profit growth of not less
than 10 per cent in the last three years.

The
same ceremony also saw the establishment of the Bauhinia
Cup Outstanding Entrepreneur Association, which provides
a network for elitist entrepreneurs and helps promote continuous
economic development of the country in the long run. Awardees
of the scheme, including those of the past years, would
be invited to be members of the Association.
IfE
also organised a Bauhinia Cup Outstanding Entrepreneurs
Forum on campus from 3 to 4 December. The Forum aimed to
foster experience sharing and facilitate business co-operation
between entrepreneurs from the Chinese mainland and Hong
Kong. The award winners, together with other entrepreneurs,
shared their experiences and discussed topics on 'Enterprise
development strategy in the 21st century', 'Financing for
enterprise', and 'How to turn potential applied R &
D output into business opportunities'.

十 五 位 內 地 及 香 港 企 業 家 榮 獲 紫 荊 花 杯
理 大 企
業 發 展 院 於 十 二 月 二 日 舉 行 頒 獎 典 禮，表 揚 二 十 五 位 榮 獲 二 零 零 二
年 紫 荊 花 杯 傑 出 企 業 家 獎 的 內 地 及 香 港 民 營 企 業 家。今 屆，除 十 九 位
來 自 內 地 的 民 營 企 業 家 外，主 辦 單 位 更 首 次 表 彰 六 名 香 港 企 業 家，進
一 步 促 進 兩 地 企 業 家 的 交 流 和 合 作。
紫 荊 花
杯 傑 出 企 業 家 獎 成 立 目 的 是 要 表 揚 中 國 內 地 及 香 港 地 區 的 傑 出 民
營 企 業 家；理 大 希 望 通 過 讚 揚 各 得 獎 者 的 成 功 事 蹟，藉 此 推 動 國 家 經
濟 發 展。
今 屆 紫
荊 花 杯 得 獎 人 均 為 對 中 國 或 香 港 工 商 業 有 重 大 貢 獻 的 民 營 企 業 家。他
們 所 主 管 的 企 業 生 產 值 或 營 業 總 值，需 每 年 超 過 港 幣 一 億 元 ﹔ 業 務
及 利 潤 在 過 去 三 年 內 每 年 平 均 有 不 少 於 百 分 之 十 的 增 長。他 們 均 由
來 自 跨 國 企 業、內 地 及 香 港 企 業 領 袖 或 社 會 賢 達 組 成 的 審 定 委 員 會
以 客 觀 標 準 甄 選 出 來。
在 同 一
典 禮 上，理 大 宣 佈「紫 荊 花 杯 傑 出 企 業 家 協 會」正 式 成 立。所 有 紫 荊 花 杯
得 獎 者，包 括 今 屆 及 歷 屆 紫 荊 花 杯 得 獎 者，將 獲 邀 加 入 紫 荊 花 杯 傑 出
企 業 家 協 會。長 遠 而 言，該 協 會 希 望 能 夠 凝 聚 企 業 精 英，共 同 為 推 動 祖
國 持 續 經 濟 發 展 而 努 力。
香 港 理
工 大 學 分 別 在 一 九 九 七 年 及 二 零 零 零 年 先 後 舉 辦 了 兩 屆 紫 荊 花 杯
傑 出 企 業 家 獎，共 嘉 獎 了 四 十 二 位 內 地 企 業 精 英，至 今 已 是 第 三 屆。該
選 舉 獲 內 地 及 香 港 主 要 商 會 廣 泛 支 持，並 受 國 家 領 導 人 重 視。今 年 紫
荊 花 杯 協 辦 機 構 包 括 ﹕ 中 國 全 國 工 商 業 聯 合 會、中 國 國 際 人 才 交 流
協 會、中 國 民 營 科 技 實 業 家 協 會、香 港 工 業 總 會、香 港 中 華 廠 商 聯 合 會、香
港 中 華 總 商 會 及 香 港 總 商 會。
