PolyU scholars awarded Chang Jiang Chair Professorships

Three scholars from PolyU have been awarded Chang Jiang Chair Professorships to collaborate with mainland institutions on research and educational projects. They are Prof. Edwin Cheng, Chair Professor of the Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies; Prof. Ding Xiaoli, Head of the Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics; and Prof. Jin Wei of the Department of Electrical Engineering.

The Chang Jiang Scholars Programme was jointly established by the Ministry of Education and Li Ka Shing Foundation in 1998. Its main objective is to further improve China’s standard of education and intellectual competitiveness through the training of the country's best and brightest young minds.

This year, a total of 109 scholars from all over the world were elected Chang Jiang Chair Professors, among them ten were from Hong Kong.
