From Hangzhou to San Francisco and Vancouver: PolyU President paves the way for further collaborations

With internationalization as one of the key directions of PolyU, overseas visit has become an important agenda on Prof. Timothy W. Tong’s hectic schedule since he took office as the new President of PolyU on 1 January this year. He has led many delegations to the Chinese mainland and abroad to visit academic partners and industry supporters, with a view to further expanding PolyU’s global reach, and paving the way for collaborations worldwide.

In early July, Prof. Tong flew to Hangzhou in Zhejiang to meet the Deputy Mayor of Hangzhou and senior management of Zhejiang University. He then made a trip to San Francisco on 21 July, briefing local educators, academia and business leaders and alumni on the upcoming changes of the university structure in Hong Kong. He also had a brief stay in Vancouver to meet the PolyU alumni and former staff residing there and update them on the latest development of the University.
