Heavyweights stimulate thinking on university education

As part of its continuous effort in nurturing students’ intellectual perspective, PolyU’s General Education Centre has recently launched a lecture series on higher education. The first lecture delivered by Dr Cheung Chor-yung of the City University of Hong Kong discussed concerns on university education. Titled “Current issues for Hong Kong’s higher education”, the second lecture saw the sharing of University Grants Committee’s standpoints and initiatives in response to current challenges and opportunities for local higher education sector by its Chairman Mr Edward Cheng Wai-sun and Secretary-General Dr Richard T. Armour. In the third lecture, former Chief Secretary for Administration Mrs Anson Chan gave her insights on the role of university students in political reform.
