Academic Staff

Dr Guo is currently a Research Assistant Professor with Department of Computing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where he also defended his PhD degree in December 2020. Prior to that, he received his M.E. degree from Waseda University, Japan, and his B.E. degree from Sichuan University, China, all in Computer Science. From 2021 to 2022, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow remotely with The University of Sydney, Australia (where he was also a Visiting PhD from 2019 to 2020), and concurrently, was an Associate Professor with School of Computing and Artificial Intelligence, SWUFE, China. He is generally interested in Resource-efficient Computing and Edge AI, which target learning/modeling with limited resources in terms of Data, Computing Capability, as well as exploring their derivative applications on a wide spectrum. He is currently an Associate Editor for IEEE Open Journal of the Computer Society and a Guest Editor for IEEE Transactions on Computational Social Systems. He regularly serves as Area Chair / Senior PC and/or Session Chair for prestigious venues like ICML, AAAI, MM, and IJCAI. He has served as Publicity Chair for SRDS 2022 and Track Chair (TPC Vice-Chair) for VTC 2024 Fall.
