Biography
Dr Chen received his PhD degree in artificial intelligence from Department of Computing at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and got the postdoctoral fellowship in entrepreneurship with excellent performance. His research areas include computer music, brain-computer interface, and affective computing. He has published top conference papers, such as ACM MM, AIES, IJCAI, KDD and top journal papers, such as IEEE TMM and IJIS. He is the associate editor of A Multi-Language Dictionary of Music Works and A Multi-Language Dictionary of Music Terms (The Commercial Press). Dr Chen is specifically interested in technology transfer and angel investment in frontier technology. He has won several national level awards in various entrepreneurship competitions and has been leading several entrepreneurial projects supported by Entrepreneur First (EF), Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks (HKSTP), PolyU and Shenzhen Government. A start-up company founded by Dr Chen was selected into the Incubation Programme of HKSTP. He has been a visiting scholar at Carnegie Mellon University and has served in CoStone Capital. Currently he is the Deputy Coordinator of Entrepreneurship, Department of Computing.
