PolyU has a high reputation in conducting application oriented research with strong research capability and international reputation. The colleagues in CEE transportation group have already established their international reputations in the fields of pavement engineering, infrastructure management, transport policy and traffic safety, transportation systems modelling and analysis, transportation network reliability analysis, management transportation and logistics systems, and smart mobility. Their research interests are summarized as follows.

Prof. William H.K. LAM, is a Chair Professor of Civil and Transportation Engineering and Head of CEE in PolyU. Prof. Lam is the Co-Editors-in-Chief of the Journal of Advanced Transportation (2008 SCI impact factor: 1.207) and the Editor-in-Chief of the SCI Journal - Transportmetrica (2008 SCI impact factor: 2.043). His research interests include: transport network modeling and infrastructure planning, travel demand forecasts and risk assessment, ITS technology and planning, public transport and pedestrian studies.

Prof. Anthony CHEN is a Professor of Transportation Engineering and Unit Leader of the Construction and Transportation group in CEE at PolyU. Prof. Chen was a recipient of the prestigious Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) in 2002.  Currently, he also serves as the Chang Jiang Chair Professor at Tongji University, Shanghai, China. The major portion of his research focuses on transportation systems modeling and analysis, transportation network reliability/ vulnerability/ flexibility/redundancy/ resiliency analysis, non-motorized transportation modeling, path flow estimator and its applications to transportation planning, and applied optimization to civil infrastructure problems.

Dr. Zhen LENG holds B.Eng with honor in Traffic and Civil Engineering (from Southeast University, Nanjing, China), M. Eng in Highway and Railroad Engineering (from Southeast University, Nanjing, China), and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, US). His research interests mainly include sustainable pavement materials and technologies, transportation infrastructure nondestructive evaluation, and accelerated pavement testing and instrumentation.

Dr. Barbara W.Y. SIU obtained her B.Eng (Hons) in Civil and Environmental Engineering and PhD in Civil Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Her research interests include transport network modeling and optimization, travel time uncertainty, network reliability, travel behavior, time-dependent transport network design, and land use - transport interaction.

Prof. Agachai SUMALEE's research interests include intelligent transportation system, smart city, Internet of Things (IOT) application in smart mobility, mathematical analysis in transport, and logistics management. Professor Sumalee often takes on practical challenges related to complex management of transportation and logistics system. He developed the end-to-end solution for All Thai Taxi service supporting the operation of over thousand taxis in Bangkok. This is probably one of the world first end-to-end enterprise management solution for a taxi fleet. Professor Sumalee is Editor in Chief and Founding Editor of Transportmetrica B: Transport Dynamic (SCI journal). Details of this works can be found at www.agachai-sumalee.com

Dr. Yuhong WANG holds B.Eng with honor in Construction Management Engineering from Tongji University, M. Sc. in Civil Engineering from University of Kentucky, and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from University of Kentucky. His research interests mainly include highway pavement materials and structures, pavement management, and construction issues related to transport infrastructures.
