Admission Requirements for Master Students

Applicants must hold a first or second class honors bachelor's degree in a relevant subject from a recognized university.

Applicants who do not hold a bachelor's degree from a university with English as the medium of instruction or a bachelor's degree majoring in English must meet one of the following English proficiency requirements:

IELTS 6.5 or above

TOEFL (TOFEL) written test (PBT) 550 or above, computer-based test (CBT) 213 or above, internet-based test (iBT) 80 or aboveApplication Notes

The applicant's excellent performance and professional research ability in related fields will also be considered in the admission application.

Applicants must prepare the following documents within two weeks after submitting the online application form or as soon as possible after receiving the degree certificate, and submit them in person, by mail or by email to the Research Office of Polytechnic University, or upload them to https://www38 .polyu.edu.hk/eAdmission/index.do:

proof of bachelor degree; and
report card; and
English test results (if available); and
Research Proposal (Form RDC/1A); and
Personal academic thesis or research report (which can demonstrate the applicant's professional research ability); and
Personal resume (clearly stating the applicant's academic standards, professional qualifications and relevant work experience (if any))
