Chun CHENG

Biography

Chun Cheng is now a PhD student of Department of Building and Real Estate at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.She was graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology(Bachelor). Her research background is in electrochemistry and chemical engineering. Now she focus on the electrochemical method of heat to electricity conversion.

Area of Research

Her research focuses on application of thermal energy storage and conversion, especially newly developed liquid-based technologies for waste heat recovery, including thermo-electrochemical cells (TECs), thermally regenerative electrochemical cycles (TRECs), and thermo-osmotic energy conversion (TOEC) systems.

Research Methodology

The research mainly explores the new materials and new methods with promising potential in heat-to-electricity conversion. The materials will be synthesized and applied in this field, then evaluated the power and efficiency performance. While using advanced characterization methods, detailed analysis will be conducted to illustrate the intrinsic mechanism of energy conversion.
