Jockey Club Smart Aging Hub has been supported by Hong Kong Jockey Club with a donation of HKD47.9M in Aug 2017, and the project will officially start on Dec 1 2017. Its aim is to provide a bridge between different stakeholders for achieving smart aging, including elderly people, their family members and caregivers, service providers, technology developers, students and youngers, industries, government officers, etc. A day center and virtual library about available smart aging technologies and its latest development will be established in Jockey Club Rehabilitation Engineering Center, and real demonstration sites will be established in 6 NGOs, which have been taking care of elderly with different conditions.
