Introduction
RCMBE first started in 1994 as The Interdisciplinary Research Centre for Musculoskeletal Bioengineering and Rehabilitation Technology as joint university collaboration with a special earmarked initiation grant from the University Grants Committee in Hong Kong. The Center was formally approved as a PolyU Research Center in 2000 with the title Research Center for Musculoskeletal Bioengineering (RCMBE). The RCMBE was re-validated in 2005 and was strengthened under HTI Department and with additional individual colleagues in other departments, faculties and institutions.  RCMBE was further re-validated in 2010 and was approved to continue the operation for a period of three years, i.e., 15 September 2010 - 14 September 2013. The further realignment of RCMBE was done in May 2012 from HTI/FHHS to Interdisciplinary Division of Biomedical Engineering in Faculty of Engineering.
