Subject: Learning and Teaching Arrangements in the 2022/23 Academic Year

Dear Students,
Welcome to the 2022/23 academic year! I hope you all have had a safe and refreshing summer break.
As Semester One will commence on 29 August 2022, I would like to encourage you to revisit the Notice on Arrangements for Learning, Teaching and Assessment (LTA) for Semester One, 2022 (dated 27 May 2022).
Salient points of the Notice and other useful information are provided below for your easy reference:

Delivery mode of general learning and teaching activities
Learning and teaching will be delivered face-to-face (f2f).  Students shall return to campus to attend all general learning and teaching activities, e.g. lectures, tutorials, etc., face-to-face.  All lectures, seminars and tutorials will be video-taped and uploaded to the Learning Management System (LMS) for students' reference and revision.
For Taught Postgraduate Programmes, Departments have communicated with students about their arrangements, e.g. the mode of delivery can be in person or hybrid.

Delivery mode of essential learning and teaching activities
Essential learning and teaching activities, such as practicums, clinical skills training, laboratory and studio sessions as deemed mandatory by Faculties/Departments in achieving the intended learning outcomes, will continue to be conducted f2f on campus.

Notwithstanding the above arrangements, f2f activities may be reviewed with reference to the latest health and travel advice as issued by the HKSAR Government if the COVID-19 epidemic situation worsens significantly.

For students who are outside Hong Kong
The Non-local Student Services Team under the Student Affairs Office has been providing you with support on arrangements to follow when entering Hong Kong.  You may contact the Team by phone: (852) 2766 5408 or by email:
For students who have genuine difficulties returning to Hong Kong in time, you are advised to consult your host Departments for advice on alternative arrangements. Please also consult your academic advisor and subject offering department before registering for subjects with essential f2f activities.  Students are advised in advance not to register for subjects with essential f2f activities if alternative arrangements to fully achieve the learning outcomes cannot be made.
Latest Learning, Teaching and Assessment Information
Students are reminded to check here for the latest Learning, Teaching and Assessment (LTA) information (i.e. whether a subject consists of essential LTA activities to be conducted via f2f mode) for the subjects offered in Semester One, 2022/23.  Students must attend to the subject registration information therein carefully and contact the subject teachers concerned for enquiries, if any.
