Biography

Dr Dou Diya is Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Applied Social Sciences at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She teaches Tomorrow’s Leaders, Service Leadership, and Service Leadership through Serving Children and Families with Special Needs. She serves as the subject leader of Service Leadership. As a team member, she received the Gold Award in the Nurturing Well-being & Purpose category at QS Reimagine Education in 2021. Dr Dou’s research focuses on the following areas: 1) positive youth development among adolescents, 2) parenting and adolescent well-being, 3) school effectiveness and school improvement, and 4) teacher professional development and well-being. Dr Dou’s work has been published in international refereed journals, including Journal of Adolescent Health, Educational Management Administration and Leadership, Journal of Affective Disorders, Journal of Adolescence, Journal of Psychoactive Drugs, and Applied Research in Quality of Life. She serves as a reviewer for more than ten SSCI journals in psychology and education. She has been awarded over HK$6 million funding for research projects on adolescents and leadership in the capacity of Co-PI or PI.
