APSS Alumnus Receives Outstanding Junior Social Worker Award
Miss Fiona CHAN Pei Chung, a graduate from the Department of Applied Social Sciences (APSS) has received the 30th Outstanding Junior Social Worker Award (新秀社工獎) presented by the Hong Kong Social Workers Association for prominent achievements in the field.
Fiona graduated from Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Social Work in 2020. She became a registered social worker and joined the Fu Hong Society to serve persons with disabilities and promote social inclusion.
Fiona devoted herself in the “Best Buddies Hong Kong” Movement when she was a student. In 2015, she acted as student leader and attended the Annual Best Buddies Internal Leadership Conference. These experiences motivated her to be a social worker to serve others in needed. Fiona is thankful for the knowledge and training she acquired through the APSS programme.
First presented in 1991, the Outstanding Social Worker Award aims to recognise the effort and achievements of social workers in Hong Kong.
