Entry scholarships are available for students who attain level 5** in HKDSE subjects and aggregate HKDSE score of 27 or above for the best 5 subjects. 

Aims and Characteristics

This programme is designed with the aim to cultivate students with interdisciplinary knowledge of Physics and the Secondary Major starting from the initial stage. The programme is precisely designed to consolidate the strengths of both Physics and the Secondary Major and helps the graduates to excel in the contemporary workplace environment and take on future challenges.  

Students will be graduate with one of the following degrees upon successful completion of the graduation requirements of the programme concerned:

  • BSc (Hons) in Physics with a Secondary Major in AI and Data Analytics
  • BSc (Hons) in Physics with a Secondary Major in Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Learning Outcomes

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has far-reaching impact on our lives, ranging from mobile devices, smart homes, physical health and even Industrial 4.0. AI is intimately linked to physics in various ways. Seamless collaboration between the two disciplines permit accurate observations of the environment and realistic predictions to solve problems. The diverse physical principles can also be deployed for optimizing AI components, facilitating the discoveries of critical workflow and parameters, as well as collecting accurate data for training AI systems in numerous applications. Conversely, AI plays a pivotal role in the large-scale computation and predication of physical studies, saving resources and time for experimental research.

The programme is tailored for students with curiosity in both physics and AI. With a strong emphasis on applications, students will be exposed to both fundamental and applied physics topics as well as the concepts in AI. The infusion of the two disciplines throughout the curriculum down to the subject level allows students to consolidate their learning, providing them with a competitive edge in the upcoming technology development.
