Structure and Characteristics

Service teaching in Mathematics and Statistics is a major component of teaching activities of the Department. The Department has a commitment of about 200 hours/week of service teaching to students from various departments and programmes of the University. The number of subjects taught is over 30 and these subjects are mostly of levels 1 and 2, complementing the students' main studies.

In addition, we are providing additional optional revision tutorials via Mathematics Learning Support Centre(MLSC) for students since 2013. More than 1600 students attended in 2013/14. The number of students had increased to over 2500 in 2014/15, showing the popularity of the revision tutorials.
