The Guidance Notes for Students for Subject Registration in 2005/06

Programme:	63017 -- Higher Diploma in Statistics and Computing for Business
Programme Aims:
This programme aims to provide students with a sound education and training in the applications of statistical and computing principles and techniques to business and industry. The programme also provides a sound foundation for graduates to pursue further studies and to acquire relevant professional membership.
Minimum number of credits to be taken:
To be eligible for the Award, students have to complete sixteen 3-credit subjects, i.e. 11 compulsory subjects and 5 elective subjects including at least one "Statistics/Mathematics" subject, one "Computing/Statistical Computing" subject and one "Business and Management" subject of the Programme. The normal duration of the Programme is 3 years and students need to complete the Programme in not more than 6 years.
Specific requirements for the programme:
A student, unless otherwise approved by the Programme Committee, must enrol in not less than 2 subjects but not more than 4 subjects in any semester.  A student may be given credit transfer for a subject on the basis of acceptable qualifications or achievements.  Students should take note of the pre-requisite(s) for each subject, if any, listed in the class timetable for 2004/05.
