The minimum entrance requirement is a Higher Diploma or an Associate Degree in mathematics, statistics, science, business or engineering from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, or similar qualifications from other educational institutions or equivalent. The applicant may also have to satisfy the Selection Panel in other respects (e.g. interview, aptitude test).

Admitted students with insufficient background in calculus and/or linear algebra are required to pass the subjects Calculus (AMA140) and/or Linear Algebra (AMA141), or their equivalent.
