Programme Aims: |
|
This programme provides balanced and practical training in
statistics, decision analysis and computing technology with
applications to business, commerce and finance in this
'information era'. It provides a solid foundation for problem
solving skills to tackle planning and decision problems with
special relevance to business and finance. |
|
|
|
Minimum number of credits to be taken: |
|
To
be eligible for the Award, students must complete the requisite
63 credits of the Programme.
(a) For
2001/02 intakes to 2004/05, students have to complete 63 credits
including seventeen 3-credit compulsory subjects, a 6-credit
"Case Study" and two 3-credit elective subjects.
(b) From
2005/06 intake onwards, students have to complete 63 credits
including seventeen 3-credit compulsory subjects and four
3-credit elective subjects.
The normal
duration of the Programme is 3 years and students need to
complete the Programme in not more than 6 years. |

Specific requirements for the programme: |
|
A
student, unless otherwise approved by the Programme Committee,
must enrol in not less than 2 subjects but not more than 4
subjects in any semester.
A student
may be given credit transfer for a subject on the basis of
acceptable qualifications or achievements. |
|
|
|

will be given credit transfer for the following subjects:
AMA150, AMA151, AMA237, AMA262, AMA263, AMA264 and AMA382.
Further credit transfer for COMP201, COMP305 and COMP312 may be
given if they obtained Grade C or above in COMP253, COMP254 and
61425 in their 3-year HDMSC study. |
