彭实戈院士荣获“未来科学大奖”

2020年9月6日, “未来科学大奖”获奖名单在北京揭晓。中国工业与应用数学学会第五、六届理事会
副理事长,顾问委员会委员彭实戈院士因其在倒向随机微分方程理论,非线性Feynman-Kac公式和非
线性数学期望理论中的开创性贡献,荣膺“数学与计算机科学奖”。

彭实戈院士和Pardoux合作于1990年发表的文章被认为是倒向随机微分方程理论(BSDE)的奠基性
工作。这项工作开创了一个重要的研究领域,其中既有深刻的数学理论,又有在数学金融中的重要应用。
彭实戈院士在这个领域一直持续工作,做出了一系列重要贡献。

彭实戈院士于1992年创建了非线性Feynman-Kac公式,从而对一大类二阶非线性微分方程给出了
BSDE表示。

彭实戈院士发展了非线性数学期望的理论,这与传统的线性数学期望有本质上的不同,但相似的数学理
论仍能够建立。这对风险的定义和定量有重大应用。

未来科学大奖是中国首个世界级民间科学大奖,由未来论坛于2016年创立,下设生命科学奖、物质科
学奖、数学与计算机科学奖三个奖项,单项奖金为一百万美元(人民币约700万元)。强调奖励在大中
华地区完成、产生巨大国际影响、具有原创性、长期重要性或经过了时间考验的科研工作,不论其国籍、
性别和年龄,旨在推动突破性基础科学研究,表彰优秀科学家,吸引全球科技人才,促进科学事业发展。
2016年至今,未来科学大奖共评选出20位获奖者,获得了科学和社会领域的广泛认可。

【会议信息】中国数学会2020年学术年会会议通知

中国数学会2020年学术年会将于2020年10月16—19日(16日报到,19日离会)在河北省石家庄市举
行,此次年会由河北师范大学承办。这是中国数学工作者一年一次的学术盛会,会上将邀请3位华人数学
家做大会报告,邀请百余位数学家在代数与数论、几何与拓扑、常微动力系统、偏微分方程、实分析和
复分析、计算数学、概率和统计、运筹与控制、组合与计算机数学、数学教育等10个领域做分组报告,
还将邀请部分院士在石家庄地区大中院校做科普报告。

会议期间还将召开中国数学会党委扩大会议,正副理事长、秘书长会议,常务理事会会议、理事会会议
以及监事会会议。

受疫情影响,2020年8月27日常务理事会议定本次年会在线下举行。鉴于时间紧张,敬请各位会议代
表尽快完成网上注册、住宿选择并缴纳注册费。9月30日之后注册代表所选的宾馆不能完全保障,请大

我国在非线性椭圆和抛物型偏微分方程研究领域已经形成了众多的非常活跃的研究队伍,相互之间
也有很多交流与互动,并取得了一系列突出成果。由于新冠疫情的影响,大量学术会议被迫取消或
者推迟,给正常学术交流带来了很大阻碍。为了加强该领域内的学术交流、交流最新的研究进展,
从而促进非线性椭圆和抛物型偏微分方程的进一步发展,武汉大学数学与统计学院、数学协同创新
中心及国家天元中部数学中心决定于2020年10月7日至9日举办“非线性椭圆和抛物型方程及其应
用”网络在线学术会议。

【会议信息】Domain Decomposition Methods, ONLINE, Dec 2020

The 26th International Conference on Domain Decomposition Methods
(DD26), organized by the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), will
now take place ONLINE from December 7 to 12, 2020.  To take into
account the various geographical locations of our participants,
plenary talks are scheduled at a time that is reasonable for most time
zones, and parallel sessions are scheduled twice a day in such a way
that participants can attend at least one out of two sessions
comfortably. Also, talks will be recorded for later viewing by other
participants (subject to consent from individual speakers). The full
schedule can be found on the conference website at the link below.

Registration is now open. The registration fees are HKD800 (about USD
100) for regular participants, and HKD400 (about USD 50) for students.
The deadline for registration is October 31, 2020. Participants who
have previously registered and kept their fees for 2020 are
automatically registered, and they will be contacted for refund
arrangements.

We have reopened the call for minisymposia and contributed talks.
Proposals should be in the form of a plain text e-mail to
dd26@math.cuhk.edu.hk. For minisymposia, please provide a title, a
short description of the subject matter, and a list of speakers for
the minisymposium. For contributed talks, please provide a title an
abstract. The deadline for submitting proposals is October 15, 2020
(extended deadline). Previously accepted minisymposia and contributed
talks are automatically accepted for this round.

Thanks to the generous support of the Hong Kong Peihua Education
Foundation, we are now accepting applications for financial support,
including registration fee, from graduate students, postdocs and
junior faculty based in Mainland China. To be considered for funding,
please email a cover letter, including a statement about why you want
to participate, along with a CV to dd26@math.cuhk.edu.hk. Deadline for
submissions: September 30, 2020.

【招聘信息】Postdoc Position, Scientific Machine Learning, EPFL, CH

We are looking for a postdoctoral computational scientist/applied
mathematician to join the Chair of Computational Mathematics and
Simulation Science, lead by Prof Jan S Hesthaven, to work in the area
of scientific machine learning.

Current activities focus on the development of collaborative modes of
interaction between modern computational methods and recent machine
learning techniques, in particular based on neural networks. Such
developments seek to overcome known algorithmic bottlenecks or enable
entirely new ways of solving problems of relevance to science and
engineering. The postdoctoral fellow is expected to engage in
different projects in line with the above vision.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills: A PhD in
mathematics, mechanical engineering or related topics; Experience with
model order reduction techniques; Experience with modern computational
methods for solving PDEs; Good programming skills.

The effort is of a collaborative nature so strong interpersonal and
communication skills are required. Working language is English. There
will be some teaching responsibilities at EPFL as part of the
position.

We offer a 1 year contract with the possibility of an extension, a
dynamic and inspiring working environment, and a competitive salary. A
start date of January 1, 2021 is preferred but this is negotiable.
