Biography

Dr. Yi Liu joined the Hong Kong Polytechnic University as an Assistant Professor of Economics in 2022. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park. Prior to her Ph.D., she was a research analyst at the International Monetary Fund.

Dr. Liu’s research interests are in macroeconomics, entrepreneurship, venture capital, innovation, and economic growth. Her current work uses a blend of empirical and quantitative methods to understand the impact of corporate venture capital on firm dynamics and aggregate outcomes.
