This is an important
part of the General Education Centre (GEC), the kernel
of discursive and interactive teaching. There are
three audio-visual rooms open for booking, and a hugh
computer lab for self-learning and teaching purposes.
Students can make use of the room, with its great
variety of visual, audio and audio-visual materials
linked up with the necessary hardware for exhibition
and review. They can also use the room for holding
discussions and conferring with their lecturers. Important
teaching support materials are available, and staff
student interactions are given the right breeding
ground. Twenty-one desktop computers are provided
for students' use in connection with their study of
General Education (GE) subjects. Dozens of educational
computer-software titles including those on logic
for Critical Thinking, and on astronomy for Science
Judgment Domain subjects are available for the enrichment
of students' learning in a multi-media environment.
Reference books and certain World-Wide-Web (WWW) support
software can also be used in the Project Room, which
are particularly useful for completing WWW assignments
for some GE subjects. For those GE subjects that require
the use of audio-visual resources in their projects,
the students can creatively make use of the available
equipment, including TV sets, VCRs, camcorders, video-editing
facilities and over 1000 educational videos. Finally,
any suggestions from students on how to enhance the
facilities of the Project Room are welcome, and are
seriously considered by the GEC. |
