| PolyU innovations shine in Geneva’s Invention Expo |
| The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) has recently been awarded record number of top prizes in the International Exhibition of Inventions, New Techniques and Products held earlier in Geneva. On top of winning the Prize of the State of Geneva (one of the top five prizes) and two Grand Awards, PolyU researchers won six Gold Medals and a Silver Medal. |

| HSBC Insurance and PolyU join hands to build green campus |
| Under the “Let’s Travel Green” campaign launched by HSBC Insurance, the “Eco-blocks for Eco-schools” programme, a joint initiative of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and HSBC Insurance, has improved the environment and air quality of three schools with the use of the PolyU-developed Eco-blocks since July 2008. To encourage more local schools to participate in this programme, HSBC Insurance will also launch an art competition entitled “Go Green @ School” in the second quarter of 2009. |

| Civil and structural engineering experts of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) were recently granted two first-honour research awards in the technology category by the Technology Development Centre, established under the Ministry of Education in Mainland China.
