Currently research activities in mathematical sciences encompass both theoretical and the applied, with emphasis on solving real life problems in engineering, business and finance.  Research areas in the Department range from Applied Statistics, Financial Mathematics, Management Science, Numerical Analysis and Engineering Computation, Operations Research, Optimal Control Theory as well as Quantitative Methods for business and finance.
