Applied Optimization and Operations Research

This group has research interests in theory and numerical methods in the areas of nonlinear optimization, variational inequality, nonlinear equations, vector optimization, optimal control, logistics, neural network and financial mathematics. Collaborations have been done with colleagues worldwide and from other departments within the University including engineering, logistics and textile. This group has a very good track record in securing government research grants and has also published high quality papers in prestigious international journals.

In recent years, this group has been very active in promoting research and its applications and has organized the following international conferences and workshops:

Second International Workshop on Successful Strategies in Supply Chain Management , Hong Kong, 8-9 January 2009
The 2nd International Conference on Nonlinear Programming with Applications (NPA2008), Beijing, China, 7-9 April 2008
