Description

PolyU students are invited to join Bauhinia Valley Innovation Entrepreneur Workshop from 29 May (Wed) to 13 Jun (Thu) at Shanghai, China. It’s a good opportunity for widening students’ horizon on entrepreneurship development.

Eligibility and Requirements

1. Full-time current students with valid travel documents to enter the Mainland. Priority will be given to local students as this workshop is meant to broaden the exposure of Hong Kong youths.

2. Putonghua fluency is a must.

3. Be proactive and have a strong desire to learn and appreciate the importance of worldview.

4. Be available throughout the period of commitment, from 29 May to 13 June 2019.

Notes to students:

  • Students are to furnish an Outbound Activity Fee of HK$1,500 upon confirmation of the nomination by CMAO. The fee is non-refundable;
  • Tuition Fee waived;
  • Accommodation Fee waived;
  • Students need to make their own travel arrangement;
  • Some meals and excursion are at student’s own cost, therefore, they are advised to make ready pocket money for the programme (further details will be provided before departure);
  • Students are eligible to get a sponsorship of HK$ 2,500 upon successful completion of the programme, i.e. no absences and no late arrivals or early departures, and getting the Certificate of Attainment issued by the receiving university.

Entrepreneurship Society(ES) of Office of Student Development (OSD) is going to nominate 25 full-time students.

Successful applicants will receive a confirmation email by Entrepreneurship Society(ES) / CMAO by 3 Apr (Wed).

展館位於集團旗下的甲級商廈–嘉尚匯,館內設有三個展廳―「志城」、「和居」和「靜軒」,分別保存及展示集團自1955年創立至今,四大業務及呂志和獎的珍貴文書、信扎、報告、手稿、出版物等歷史檔案、照片、以及其他具珍貴紀念價值的紀念品。「嘉和軒」展現了集團員工「眾志成城、群策群力」的精神,同時亦展出集團主席呂志和博士歷年來所獲的榮譽及逾250件私人收藏包括書畫、陶瓷和玉器等。

2019 區塊鏈奧賽為跨領域的設計與開發競賽,參賽選手必須運用去中心化App 解決現實生活的問題。香港區塊鏈奧賽培訓營分為四個主題課程,旨在培訓香港學生參加 2019 區塊鏈奧賽。

區塊鏈是史上發展飛快、急速擴張的產業,對後代的影響無遠弗屆。如果想要在競賽中脫穎而出,你一定要比一般大眾更了解區塊鏈!

工作坊 1/4:區塊鏈技術基本原理 Blockchain Tech from First Principles
在本課程中,學生將學習區塊鏈的重要技術元素以及彼此的關聯。課程將說明區塊鏈的技術特徵與優缺點;介紹各式區塊鏈與分散式帳本技術、去中心化應用程式的設計,並講解一些應用實例。課程未設定選修條件,但具有程式設計、數學或密碼學背景較容易上手。

工作坊 2/4:區塊鏈商務應用案例 Business Blockchain Uses Cases
在本課程中,學生將學習區塊鏈的商業課題。課程將介紹如何運用區塊鏈與分散式帳本技術評估商業模式的最小可行性;如何決定是否使用區塊鏈或分散式帳本技術;去中心化應用程式的 SWOT 分析;區塊鏈在各領域的應用,包含金融、製造、物流與供應鏈、法律、醫學、保險、藝術與媒體、學術研究、智慧城市、政府等。課程未設定選修條件,但具有創業或商業管理背景較容易上手。

工作坊 3/4:區塊鏈的法律與合規議題 Legal & Compliance for Blockchain
在本課程中,學生將了解區塊鏈和分散式帳本技術的設計和操作過程中存在的法律與合規議題。課程皆介紹智能合約以及其實務應用;Notary、Peer、Orderer 節點的角色;治理的挑戰;隱私權議題(包含 GDPR);全球重要法規與裁決,並分享重大案例。課程未設定選修條件,但具有法律研究與商業管理背景較容易上手。

工作坊 4/4:區塊鏈白皮書與演示 Blockchain Whitepapers & Presentations
在本課程中,學生將認識白皮書與上台簡報的架構元素,了解如何寫好白皮書、做出引人入勝的簡報。其餘時間為自由提問,來賓為國際區塊鏈奧賽主辦者,學生也可藉此機會彼此交流討論、組成隊伍。

本屆夏令營時間為2019525日至6月2日,除了將組織學生赴北京訪問外交部,旁聽外交部例行記者會并與青年外交官座談,參訪亞洲基礎設施投資銀行、參觀釣魚臺國賓館以外,還將越南參訪,了解一帶一路建設最新成果。

本屆夏令營內容豐富,活動精彩,十分推薦學生參加。

MonsoonSIM Business Operation Management Simulation Workshop

Description

Through this fun and interactive cloud-based business simulation game, students can experience virtual companies management in real time data flow process and learn how core business modules are integrated and interlinked.

Students structured under a team of 5 competed for the highest profitable return from their group challenges. The teams worked towards the objective of running a successful virtual enterprise as they applied the business concepts they had learned and reacted quickly to situations based on practical constraints similar to real-life situations.

This workshop will cover key concepts in accounting/finance, business strategy, human resource management, information systems, marketing and sales, and operations and logistics.

After the workshop, students may consider forming own teams for the upcoming HK Competition on 01 June 2019 (Sat) at PolyU. The qualified teams can be entering to regional competition in August.

Saildrone南極環流探索

Description

Saildrone USVs provide an unprecedented opportunity to learn about distant marine environments. Powered by wind and solar energy and equipped with an array of instruments to monitor ocean and atmospheric conditions, two saildrones departed New Zealand in January 2019 on an epic voyage: the first-ever autonomous circumnavigation of Antarctica, with the generous support of the Li Ka Shing Foundation of Hong Kong.

Scientists from around the globe are providing inputs into the mission plan as the saildrones explore the Southern Ocean’s diverse ecosystem, studying topics ranging from krill abundance to penguin behavior and carbon fluxes.

Established in 1974, Hong Kong New Generation Cultural Association (HKNGCA) is a government-recognized charitable organization. Since our establishment, they have been upholding the values of “Vision, Innovation, Erudition and Responsibility” and committed to nurturing young talents. They offer services and programs for students and teachers in Hong Kong in a wide variety of areas, including science and innovation education, liberal education, national education, leadership training, teachers’ support, civic education and innovation and entrepreneurial support.

The captioned competition for its fifth year. the winning innovation projects will continue to represent Hong Kong in the “Challenge Cup” National Competition which is recognized as the "China youth innovation and entrepreneurship Olympic" while the winning entrepreneurship projects will enter the China College Students' "Internet Plus" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, which is known as "the best and biggest roadshow platform worldwide".
