Scholarships & Prizes

From time to time, a number of private organizations, firms, professional bodies and individuals donate to the University scholarships and prizes which are awarded to students with outstanding academic achievements.  Most of them are for local full-time undergraduate and sub-degree students.  Most of the scholarship/prize awardees are nominated by Heads of Academic Departments.  A limited number of scholarships/prizes are open to application by students.  Please watch out for notice.

Travelling Scholarships

The University has around 15 travelling scholarships available for students to undertake non-course-required study trips during the summer vacation to enrich their professional knowledge and widen their horizon. Some of the travelling scholarships are open for competition by students and applications are invited from November to early February annually.

Outstanding Students Award Scheme

2008 Outstanding Student Awards Presentation Ceremony

Starting from 1998/99, the University runs an Outstanding Students Award Scheme annually aimed at motivating students to excel both in academic and non-academic pursuits while they are studying at PolyU, and helping cultivate a campus culture and communicate a public image favourable to the production of Preferred Graduates and the establishment of PolyU as a Preferred University. Under the scheme, a student is selected from each faculty every year to receive the Outstanding Student of Faculty Award; and among the six awardees of the Outstanding Student of Faculty Awards, one will be further selected for the honour of the Most Outstanding PolyU Student of the Year.  The 2008 Outstanding Student Awards Presentation Ceremony was held on 24 February 2009 in the Chiang Chen Studio Theatre in PolyU.  For details of the Ceremony, please take a look at our E-magazine.
