PolyU recognizes the academic and/or
non-academic achievements of our students
through offering different types of
scholarships to our students. Normally,
these scholarships are awarded to current
students pursuing full-time undergraduate programmes leading
to PolyU awards (i.e. HKCC, SPEED, PolyU
inbound exchange students are not eligible).
1) Entry Scholarships (for Prospective
Students only)

pursuing different programmes during

Post-entry Scholarships/ Prizes awarded
based on academic and/or non-academic
achievements
From time to time, a number of private
organizations, firms, professional bodies
and individuals donate to PolyU scholarships
and prizes which are awarded to students
with outstanding academic and/or
non-academic achievements (such as
achievements in extra-curricular activities
and community services) during their studies
at PolyU. Most of the scholarship/prize
awardees are nominated by Heads of Academic
Departments. However, a limited number of
scholarships/prizes are open to application
by students. Please refer to the part “Scholarships
Open for Application”
for details.

Scholarships for Overseas Exchange/Studies
Some scholarships are made available to
full-time current students to pursue
one-semester or one-year overseas studies.

Some
scholarships may specifically require the
applicants/nominees to have the TOEFL or
IELTS results for the Donor's consideration
of the applications/nominations. Students
are encouraged to attempt the
TOEFL
or
IELTS examination
first if you are interested in these
scholarships.
4)Travelling
Scholarships
PolyU has made available around 10
travelling scholarships for full-time
students to undertake study trips during the
summer vacation to enrich their professional
knowledge and widen their horizon. Some of
the travelling scholarships are open for
competition by local students and
applications are invited from November to
early February annually.
Starting from 1998/99,
PolyU's
Outstanding Students Award Scheme is run
annually to award full-time final-year
students who excel in both academic and
non-academic pursuits during their
studies.
Under the scheme,
a student is selected from each faculty
every year to receive the Outstanding
Student of Faculty Award; and among the
six awardees of the Outstanding Student
of Faculty Awards and nominees from the
School of Design and the School of Hotel
& Tourism Management, one will be
further selected for the honour of the
Most Outstanding PolyU Student of the
Year. The 2011 Outstanding Student
Awards Presentation Ceremony was held on
8 March 2012 in the Chiang Chen
Studio Theatre in PolyU. For
