Deferred Payment of Tuition Fee

(for local students enrolled on UGC-funded full-time degree/sub-degree programmes only)

New Admittees

 

Eligibility

Local full-time UGC-funded new admittees on degree/sub-degree programmes paying a flat annual tuition fee are eligible to apply for deferred payment of the remaining balance of semester 1 tuition fee ($16,050 or $10,788).  They should be either :- 

(1) with genuine financial difficulties; or

(2) coming from families living on the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA).

 

Application

Applicants must submit the completed application form together with the required documents in person to the Student Affairs Office (SAO) at Room ST314, Core S at least 2 working days prior to tuition fee due date. Application will be considered on individual merit and application result will be announced immediately after the interview.

Current Students

 

Eligibility

Local full-time UGC-funded current students on degree and sub-degree programmes paying a flat annual tuition fee are eligible to apply for deferred payment of tuition fee if they :-

 

(1)

have received the Government Tertiary Student Finance Scheme – Publicly–funded Programmes (TSFS) notification letter/Non-means-tested Loan Scheme (NLS) remittance advice with enough amount of approved assistance to cover the tuition fee, but the money have not been received; or

(2)

are not meeting the above criterion but with genuine difficulties in settling the tuition fee on or before the payment due date. Applications will be considered on individual merits.

 

Application

For applicants meeting the above criteria, please submit the completed application form together with relevant supporting documents to the Student Affairs Office (SAO) at Room ST314, Core S at least 2 working days before the payment due date.

 

The due date for tuition fee payment for Semester 1 of 2009/10 is 18 August 2009.  Application for deferred tuition fee payment for Semester 1 of 2009/10 will start on 27 July 2009. (Submission time: Mon - Fri 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m.; except Public Holidays)

 

2009/10 application form for current students can be downloaded here or obtained from Student Affairs Office at Room ST314, Core S.  Please read the attached "Notes for Application" carefully before considering the application.


All applications will be considered on individual merit.  Apart from submitting all the required documents, applicants may be invited to attend an interview conducted by SAO.
