Volunteer Managers & Assistant Managers for Orientation Week for Non-local Freshmen

BACKGROUND
A special one-week orientation, held in end Aug, is arranged by SAO to enable non-local (undergrad) freshmen to have a smooth & quick adjustment to HK and to PolyU.  A team of volunteer managers and assistant managers will be recruited to form a working group to assist in organizing this activity.

This could be a great opportunity for volunteer Managers and Assistant Managers to improve their management, interpersonal, coordination and communication skills.

 

Team Details

The O’week Working Group consists of 5 teams of Managers and Assistant Managers.  This year, interested students not only may apply individually like in the previous years, they may also form a team and apply together.

Team Details as follows:

 

1.         Online Buddy Team (1 Manager + 5 Assistant Managers)

2.         Mass Check-in Team (1 Manager + 4 Assistant Managers)

3.         Programme Team (1 Manager + 5 Assistant Managers)

4.         O’week Helpers Team (1 Manager + 2 Assistant Managers)

5.         International Students Coordination Team (1 Manager + 1 Assistant Manager)

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To work under direction of SAO for involving in some of the following duties:

-    to plan for and organise the O'Week activities
-    to manage the volunteer on-line buddies system
-    to manage student helpers
-    to assist and liaise with relevant parties on the Mass Check-in for the non-local freshmen

 

ELIGIBILITY

  • Good coordination and communication skills
  • Good teamwork
  • Commitment
  • Experience in joining co-curricular activities
