We have five sections:


Career Development Services Section
Scope of Responsibility

Providing central coordination to “Work-Integrated Education” including management of centralised database and arrangement of WIE Transcripts
Providing placement services to students, including part-time jobs, summer internship, and PGDP offshore placement
Providing career guidance services to students, including discussion about career plan, advice on job search skills, review of resumes etc
Marketing students/graduates to potential employers, including maintenance and establishment of relationship with current and potential employers, solicitation of placement and employment opportunities for students/graduates
Facilitating graduate employment through arrangement of recruitment talks, job fair and on-campus interview
Providing career education and training programme to students
Conducting the graduate employment survey, and collecting employment feedback about students’ and graduates’ employability

Hall Management Section
Scope of Responsibility

Proposing and formulating policies relating to hall admission and hall residence, including off-campus accommodation.
Designing and monitoring hall operational systems for Student Halls.
Tailor-making hall life programmes for student residents.
Providing logistic supports to the wardens, tutors and Hall Associations for establishing the distinctive culture of respective hall.
Offering advice and assistance to hall residents and hall student associations on hall related affairs.
Co-ordinating with related parties to uphold high level of security, safety and service standard.
Administrating the bookings of hall equipment and facilities.
Marketing and conducting summer letting exercise for the Student Halls.

Physical Education Section
Scope of Responsibility

Overall planning of programmes in promoting healthy and active lifestyle
Providing PE and summer courses to FT students, and Fitness Introductory Courses to PolyU staff, immediate family members of FT staff and alumni
Organising, coaching, and managing Sports Teams, including co-ordination and participation of various competition and exchange programmes
Managing on-campus sports facilities and supervising out-sourcing staff in upkeeping the service quality of sports facilities
Coordinating matters related to and promotion of use of the Joint Sports Centre
Providing advice and assistance to students and staff on matters relating to sports activities
Conducting research/surveys on sports related issues

Student Development Section
Scope of Responsibility

Overall planning and promotion of student development initiatives in pursuance of the universities’ strategic objectives on student development
Organising university-wide projects in enhancing students’ key attributes including leadership, social and national responsibilities, entrepreneurship, ethics and psychological health e.g. Leadership Training Series, Community Service Learning Programmme and Ethics & Moral Education Programme
Planning and organising the First Year Experience for freshmen to enhance their smooth transition and success in university study, including Orientation Programme, Peer Mentoring etc.
Conducting and organizing a wide spectrum of courses/ training programmes /workshops for enhancing students’ self-development and life-long learning including Personal Development Programmes and Complementary Studies Programmes
To support student development plans of faculties / departments though organizing the First Year Seminars and other co-curricular activities
To provide ample opportunities for students to excel through organizing the High Flyers’ Club and various internal and external competitions e.g. CSLP Award Competition, Global Student Challenge, The HSBC Young Entrepreneur Awards etc
Providing counselling services to students through individual/small group counselling and crisis intervention
To conduct psychological assessment for enhancing students’ self understand, career planning and personal development
To conduct Outcome-based Assessment on programmes to measure students’ learning outcomes and programme effectiveness
To conduct researches and surveys to assess students’ generic competences and psychological health e.g. SAARD, GHQ, LASSI etc. for outcome assessment, programme development and counselling intervention

Student Support and Amenities Section
Scope of Responsibility

Administering Government and PolyU Financial Assistance Schemes, Campus Work Scheme, Scholarships and Awards, including liaison work and organization of receptions
Administering subsidies and funding for student activities
Liaising with and supporting Student Organizations
Providing support and assistance to students with special needs- in-bound exchange students, non-local freshmen/minors, students with disabilities, etc.
Managing the Amenities Centre and its facilities
Administering Co-Curricular Achievement Transcript
Conducting Survey on Background of New Students
Managing the e-Portfolio
Coordinating IT affairs and student records
