SPECIAL ePortfolio is a personalized portal for students to reflect, articulate and showcase their learning experience in all sorts of educational settings in pursuit of all-round development.

It is also an online learning tool to facilitate students' development of generic competencies in line with the PolyU Strategic Objectives 1.1.

SPECIAL stands for different domains of desirable generic competencies contributing to students' all-round development and successful future.

SPECIAL ePortfolio is not only a personalized portal for students, but also serves as a tool to help academics/mentors to facilitate students' learning. The following features will be available in 2008/2009:-

• Viewing record of submission status from a particular class / group of students
• Handy tools for grading and giving feedbacks
• Record and reporting of grades and comments given
• Record of artefacts from students
• Authentication of artefacts from students

• Have an effective management system to receive and keep track of students' work
• Have a platform to communicate with students more interactively
• Have a tool to help students to set their learning goals and monitor their learning progress
