Special appreciation went to one of the superb peer mentors, Mr. Cheung Pak-yin, Patrick, who generously contributed his blogs to assist freshmen throughout the transition.  Patrick is an Engineering student in his final year of study.  His blogs are full of encouragement and guidance.  His sharing of real life experience is invaluable for new students to overcome hurdles and challenges. The Blogging Competition, run by Student Affairs Office, was one of the new initiatives of the Common Orientation Programme (COP) under the First Year Experience theme series.  The contest received positive feedback* from participants, while bringing intrinsic value to new students.

-          Recording freshmen’s first-hand experience as soon as they get started their university days.

-          Sharing of excitement and difficulties could be one of the natural remedies for adapting to new environment.

*Read what this freshman said about this competition…

“… this competition is probably the most impressive one.  Getting a prize from this competition is no longer my priority.  I have considered myself as a winner, as I have experienced things which I have never had before. (WH Hai, one of the participants)

Response from SAO  The organizer would like to extend deepest thanks to this freshman for his personal reflection.  It is highly encouraging in getting such an affirmative comment.
