Objectives

  • Stimulate students to broaden their horizons beyond their academic and professional pursuit
  • Encourage students to explore for dimensions of balanced and all-round development
  • Motivate students to pursue life-long learning

Characteristics

  • Great variety of courses

  • Short courses of up to twenty hours in length

  • Classes are usually held once every week

  • Runs three rounds a year, namely Semester 1, Semester 2 and Summer Term

  • Free from assessment and non-credit-earning in nature

  • Interactive teaching approach, such as camps, workshops, fieldtrips and visits

  • $50 per course

Recognition

Students obtaining an attendance of 80% or more of a course will be:-

  • recognized in the Co-curricular Achievement Transcript (CAT)

  • counted as having fulfilled the mandatory requirement on co-curricular activities

  • awarded a Certificate of Attendance

  • earn points for their future application for the All-round Development SPECIAL Award. 1 hour = 10 points.
