PolyU’s WIE – Reaching Out to the Real World - WIE Trainees Welcome Home Ceremony

The Student Affairs Office held “PolyU’s WIE – Reaching Out to the Real World – WIE Trainees Welcome Home Ceremony” at the university campus on the 20th Nov, officiated by Professor Demokan, Vice President (Academic Development) and Professor Arthur Mak, Dean of Students. This is the first Homecoming event to share the joyful experience of PolyU students reaching out to the real world via WIE activities.

PolyU has been showcasing 10 photos and 20 portfolios about students’ internship achievements on campus from 17 November to 20 November. Those were valuable experiences of PolyU’s students from different countries such as Russia, Korea, US and Canada etc, working in various well-known corporations like Microsoft, Holiday Inn Downtown Beijing, Sing Tao Daily New York, MTR Corporations, Tsingtao Brewery etc.

In junction with the event, SAO also published the WIE Yearbook which features over 40 outstanding WIE stories of our students reaching out to the real world -- the real world of work in Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland and over 75 cities in nearly 30 countries around the world.  It demonstrates students' learning outcomes in the WIE experience especially in the generic skills of

-  All round ‘Preferred Graduates’
-  Global Citizens
-  Competent Professionals
-  Effective Communicators
-  Creative Problem-solvers
