In 1957, Miramar Hotel and Investment Company Limited purchased the 192-room Hotel Miramar Hong Kong from a Spanish mission, and subsequently embarked on a series of rapid expansion plans.

For over 50 years, Hotel Miramar Hong Kong has been a landmark centrally located in Tsim Sha Tsui, being frequented by local patrons and visitors.

September 2009 sees another milestone in the story, as Hotel Miramar Hong Kong has been re-named and re-launched as The Mira Hong Kong.
