About CMAO
The Chinese Mainland Affairs Office (CMAO) is a designated unit of PolyU to facilitate academic collaboration, student and scholarly exchanges, as well as the recruitment of mainland students for PolyU undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. It provides a gateway through which institutions and organizations on Chinese mainland, Taiwan and Macao can effectively communicate and forge partnership with different PolyU departments.
At CMAO, we value the opportunities to coordinate the initiatives and efforts of different PolyU community members to enhance our contribution to the education needs of the country, and to integrate the strengths of our mainland counterparts with our own to better serve the community.
The scope of our service generally falls into three areas:
- Academic collaboration with institutions including operating outposts for delivering PolyU award programmes run in collaboration with prestigious partner universities on the mainland.
- Receiving incoming delegations, organizing student and scholarly exchanges and arranging special events with the aim to foster mutual understanding between Hong Kong and the mainland.
- Recruitment of mainland students for PolyU undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Hong Kong.
