PolyU's Halls of Residence Tips for new residents
A. Transportation Guide
- At Hung Hom Train Station: Exit at B1, follow the direction signs (Hung Hom or PolyU Student Halls) in the pedestrian footbridge, you can walk to the Hall in 10 minutes;
- At Hong Kong International Airport: Take Bus A21 to Hung Hom Train Station, then follow instructions in 1. (note the pedestrian footbridge is one storey down the bus terminal).
B. Check-in Procedures
- Complete the check-in procedures at the G/F Hall Reception Counter.
- What to be collected and signed upon Check-in?

| i | Temporary Resident Card (TR Card) | Bring along HK$100 for encoding the TR Card so that you can use the smart-card equipped air-conditioner and laundry machines. | Upon receipt of your PolyU Student ID card, go to the Hall Reception Counter to have it encoded with hall access right and return the TR Card (remember having the residual value it refunded or else such request will not be entertained after returning the Card). For damage to or loss of TR card, an admin charge of HK$50 will be levied. |

C. Others
- For any request for room change, it will only be entertained after the first month of residence and its approval is subject to availability of any vacancy by then;
- For any family members/friends accompanying you upon check-in: accompany them to G/F Visitor Registration Counter for registration or departure (before 11 pm, as governed by Hall Regulations).
D. Living necessities (A Map of the Hall printed at the back for your quick reference)
- IDD Call: Use HK$ coins or credit card at Phone Kiosk at 1/F East Wing Lobby. IDD Phone Card can be bought at 7-Eleven and Circle-K convenient stores.
- Currency changes can be made at nearby banks or King Chi Exchange.
- Local mobile network card can be bought at ¡§3¡¨, One2Free, Sunday, Smartone in Whampoa area.
- Daily necessities can be procured at Park'n Shop, Wellcome, Japan Home Centre, or Jusco Department Store.
