http://www.hhime.com.cn/To support the strategic development of Central China, Huazhong University of Science & Technology - The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Institute of Manufacturing Excellence was set up in Wuhan in 2005 to provide quality education programmes and training to the population in the region.
With the approval of the State's Ministry of Education, two award-bearing programmes have been offered at the Institute: (1) MSc in Engineering Business Management, being the only approved Sino-foreign collaborative programme with joint award, is offered by PolyU and The University of Warwick. (2) Master in Physical Therapy, taking pride in being the first of its kind in Mainland China, comes under the collaboration of PolyU and Tongji Medical College, and is supported by the Ministry of Health. Graduates of the programme are ready to serve in Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
In line with the aim of nurturing talents, the Institute also actively promotes exchanges and collaborations between Hubei and Hong Kong. Efforts have been made to provide tailor-made training to government officials, such as those from The Personnel Department of Hubei Province, and organize cultural exchange activities for students from universities and middle schools.
