For students of PolyU’s School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM), education is more than about theory - it’s the opportunity for them to take what they learn in the classroom and apply it in real-life situations at the University’s teaching and research hotel - Hotel ICON.
This video features Dr Basak Denizci Guillet, Associate Professor of SHTM, who regards hospitality as a way of life. There are traditional methods of hotel management as well as innovative ideas that companies in the hospitality industry might find too risky to try. However, Hotel ICON allows the opportunities to try out new thinking and practice. She also pointed out that the research findings of SHTM is shared among hotel industry players.
