Abstract:
Developing all-round students is a strategic objective of the PolyU. The integration of the development of generic learning outcomes, or competences, into the formal curriculum has been one of the main focuses of the curriculum revision.

This workshop will cover both generic outcomes related to cognitive development such as creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, etc. and those related to social and attitudinal development such as teamwork, global outlook, cultural appreciation, etc.

The workshops will help participants come up with ideas on proposals for developing methods and materials which can be used within their subjects to enhance students?? generic skills required in their professions. Both useful information and real-life examples of developing these generic outcomes will be provided.
