Abstract:
PolyU has been promoting outcome-based approaches (OBA) to student
learning in all of its subjects and programmes since 2004. Around the
same time UGC has also taken this important worldwide educational
development on board and made special efforts to support the
institutions in their adoption of the approaches. Both PolyU and UGC
have established working groups and provided extra funding to steer the
development of OBA.
Teachers
new to PolyU may wonder: What is OBA all about? Why can OBA help
students better achieve the subject and programme outcomes? What do
teachers need to do to implement the approaches? This workshop aims
to introduce to new teachers the basic concepts of this important
strategic educational development at PolyU. Veteran colleagues who have
questions about OBA will also find the workshop useful.
