Abstract:

Both PolyU and UGC are committed to implementing Outcome-Based Approaches to student learning (OBA), and both parties are steering the development in OBA vigorously, including the setting up of working groups and provision of funding support. The move towards OBA is clearly an important long-term endeavour in higher education in Hong Kong.

The implementation of Outcome-Based Approaches to teaching and learning in PolyU involves all programmes and subjects. It is therefore important for PolyU teachers to have a clear understanding of what an OBA to teaching and learning is as well as how it can be implemented.

This workshop aims to introduce to new teachers the fundamentals of this important strategic development - OBA. Colleagues who have been in PolyU for some time but who still have queries about OBA are also welcome.
