管理學(榮譽)工商管理學士學位

JUPAS Programme Code: 3583

Year One intake: 55

Aims
This programme will provide you with:

A rounded business education, along with an opportunity to specialize in general management and
  human resource management (HRM);

A wide range of management skills so as to have the potential to develop as a business leader in
Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland and the Region.

Characteristics
The programme offers a wide range of subject choices in the fields of general management, HRM,
international business, management information systems and E-commerce.

You will be given the option to study with a major in management and minor in any other discipline.

You may also choose to spend four years to obtain the double degree – BSc (Hons) in Computing and
BBA (Hons) in Management. (The optional 4th year of study is self-financed).

In teaching, we emphasize interactive, student-centred learning methods, including case studies, role-
plays and simulation exercises.

Visits to companies and other organisations are arranged, and practitioners are invited as guest speakers
to share their practical experience with you.

Under our internship scheme you have opportunities for a work placement during the vacation or part-time
to gain valuable first hand work experience. Based on your performance you may be awarded a scholarship donated by a professional body, such as the Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management.

As an undergraduate student of the Faculty of Business you will be required to participate in our Work-
Integrated Education (WIE) programme. The WIE programme basically entails assessed work experience in the real world, equivalent to at least 3 training credits. WIE gives you the ideal opportunity to experience first hand realities of the workplace and to sharpen skills gained through the course in a real world setting. It also allows for a smoother transition from that of student to actual employment. You may opt to complete your WIE during the summer of year two or may choose to do so on a part time basis during the normal semester.

You are encouraged to participate in our Whole Person Development Programme (WPDP) which is
designed to help in the development of the "whole person". The WPDP includes a number of specifically designed activities catered to your needs such as the Faculty Exchange Programme whereby a period of study can be taken at one of a number of our partner overseas universities. Another programme is the Mentorship Scheme in which you are assigned a mentor, an experienced executive or manager from the business world, who will provide advice and support, and help you to plan your career and prepare for your first job after graduation. Other activities include the Leadership and Grand China Elite Programme, all of which are available to facilitate your development as a "whole person".
