Insurance

For All Students, PolyU has prepared a basic Group Personal Accident Insurance for students to provide protection for illness, accidents and travel when joining PolyU activities. Students are strongly encouraged to arrange themselves for appropriate insurance scheme (e.g. insurance coverage against illnesses, accidents and public liability) for better protection.

The Group Personal Accident insurance (GPA) policy covering students taking on internship within or outside Hong Kong, and you should note the following -

  • To ensure your internship falls into the protection in relation to WIE, you should have your internship endorsed by your department and have related information passed to CAPS (by you or your department) before commencement of the internship. Related information will then be sent to insurance company.
  • You are encouraged to find out more about GPA provided by PolyU (please click here for details) and arrange additional insurance coverage if you consider the protection offered through the GPA not sufficient.
  • If you are taking up an internship outside Hong Kong, you are strongly encouraged to purchase travel insurance for additional coverage.

If you have further enquiry about GPA, please contact our staff at Finance Office
