Sharing on Singapore Study Tour 2013

Personally, I feel extremely grateful that I had the opportunity to experience such a wonderful study trip with awesome people. Especially, I would like to thank Mr. Kings and Mr. Simon for all the fun and support given to me, I really did have a great time and learned many new things! I think that I’m very lucky to have had the chance to live so many one in a lifetime events throughout this trip that I will never forget.

I consider that the Singapore study trip organized by MISS was one of the greatest experiences I have ever lived in my entire life. Throughout the week we spent overseas, I had the chance to submerge myself into a new culture while meeting many people whom are from different backgrounds. This allowed me to develop my effective communicator skills while interacting with my peers or representatives from the different institutions visited. As a result, I was able to create new friendships with very interesting people while collaborating and sharing with each other during the study trip. However, I not only was able to meet new people but I also had the opportunity to learn about the education system, housing policies, entrepreneurship and culture in Singapore.

Furthermore, I consider that the housing policies implemented in Singapore are a success. Besides the fact that Singapore is smaller than Hong Kong, the government was able to establish a proper housing to every Singaporean. In our real estate agency visit, I was very surprised with the fact that even newly graduated students would be able to afford a flat of at least 1000 square feet, which is something that would be quite impossible to see in Hong Kong. Additionally, our speaker told us his very meaningful life story and how he overcame many challenges in order to be where he is right now. Therefore I believe that I obtained much more than just housing information because I also was able to hear the experiences of a man who faced many challenges but still aroused an overcame all of them with perseverance and hard work. This showed me that hardships are just temporary.
