| What is PolyU NetID The PolyU NetID (Network Identity) is your key to all central IT facilities on campus including e-mail, Portal, Academic Unix Cluster, dial-up facility and other network facilities and services. It is your unique personal identifier known by the University's computer systems which will enable you to apply a single username and password pair, named as PolyU Network Identity (NetID) and Network Password (NetPassword) respectively, to access the following facilities and services:
Please note that the privilege to use these IT facilities and services carries with it certain responsibilities and obligations, which are set forth in the PolyU Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and the Computer Systems Security Policy. Under these policies, all users are required to protect the integrity and security of the systems, and to comply with all applicable laws, contractual obligations and regulations. Users must also abide by all the prevailing policies, rules, guidelines and standards applicable to the use of PolyU IT facilities and services as announced by ITS. To Create Your NetID All students are provided with a NetID to access the central IT facilities and services. New students can create their NetIDs and select their NetPasswords via the "Student NetID Creation" facility of the NetID Management System. Please note that you must accept the PolyU Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) for IT Facilities and Services and the Computer Systems Security Policy, before you can create your NetID. Please read the policies carefully before creating your NetID. NetID Mangement System The NetID Management System provides web-based facilities for you to manage your NetID, NetPassword and the associated IT accounts and services. It can be accessed by clicking the ¡§NetID Management¡¨ button on the University Portal login page. Via the NetID Management System, you can: ¡ECreate your Poly NetID Changing NetPassword For security reason, you are advised to change your NetPassword periodically by accessing the "Change NetPassword" facility under the NetID Management System. |
