Pre-departure Information
Once you have received your Admission Letter from the University, you can start preparing for your departure and the exciting adventure ahead. We have summarized a simple check list below to help you prepare for your departure for Hong Kong!
- Make Flight arrangements
Arrange your flight as soon as your travel dates are confirmed but beware that payments should only be made after you have received your student visa from us. You should also pay attention to the terms and conditions of your tickets, particularly tickets at special fares. You are expected to arrive Hong Kong between 11-12 July 2012. - Receive your student visa
You should receive your student visa together with key information about Hong Kong and PolyU prior to your departure. Please contact us if you have not received it by the scheduled date. A full version can also be viewed here. - Check your passport and visa
Ensure your passport is valid throughout the period of your stay in Hong Kong and the information contained in your student label is correct. - Confirm your insurance
You are advised to subscribe additional insurance to cover the loss of baggage and personal belongings, accidents and death. - Start packing and remember to bring:
- all documents related to your study, and insurance card (in English), if applicable.
- international Student Identity Card, if any.
- enough money for living and other miscellaneous expenses.
- a document with your name and permanent address in your home country.
- any medicine you need to take regularly.
- a few recent passport-size photos.
